Only three copies found on WorldCat. No printed date bur circa 1901 (ads appear for this guide in 1901 issues of Punch, Harper's Weekly, and Collier's [1902] and the addresses at the title page are for locations the business owned by 1904). From the preface: "critical connoisseurs. - Over seventy-five formulas are given for the preparation of various beverages. The directions are plain and explicit and easy to follow, and anyone who will study them carefully will be able, with a little practice, to prepare the most delicious and satisfying drinks and do so with the skill and finish of an adept. Each formula is complete in itself and sets forth just the proper way to se cure the happiest results. Those who desire to learn the secret of successfully mixing drinks will find the following pages of great value. Others will find them instructive and interesting, for the recipes are strictly up-to date, and the manner of preparing and serving is after the styles now in vogue in the leading hotels, cafes, clubs and social organizations." Cocktails include Buffalo, Coffee, Elk's, Gin, Harlan, Manhattan, Martinez, Vermouth, Whiskey, and Manhattan Club Oyster. Also recipes for Cobblers, Egg Nog, Brandy, Fix, Fizz, Flip, Punches, Toddies, Slings, etc. Very Good, spine rather darkened, pencil recipe for brownies at front endpaper, some soiling to cloth.
