London: Cambridge University Press, 1951. First UK edition, first printing. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper is worn at the spine tips, with moderate separation, and there is a 7cm closed tear at the spine. It has not been price clipped (8s. 6d. net). There are toned splats throughout. Despite this, the dust wrapper is remarkably clean and complete for this title. There is some very faint foxing to the top edge, otherwise the text blocks are clean. Internally, the book is pristine, aside from a touch of foxing to the front and rear endpapers. The bookseller s label of H. K. Lewis & Co. Ltd is pasted on the front pastedown. This copy is free from inscriptions and is in remarkable condition for a work so scarce. Four public lectures Schr�dinger (1887-1961) gave in 1950 for the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies at University College Dublin. In it, Schr�dinger addresses the following questions: What is the value of scientific research?
