Turqoise colored cloth on boards with black title box and bright, as new gilt lettering and filligree on spine. Book is tight, square and particularly sharp-cornered with no marking or flaws inside or out, other than small, neat signature of prior owner on inside flyleaf. Map endpapers of area. Pictorial clipped Dust Jacket still shows original price of $7.50 with map of area on front, wrapping around spine onto verso. Spine is slightly faded. DJ shows only the faintest scuffing and shelfwear. From the front flap: "This work is chiefly the story of the first white settlers who came to the Bluegrass and limestone valleys of that buskin, which embraces much of southern Kentucky and most of middle Tennessee, centering on Nashville," First Edition, First Printing, as stated. 449pp.
