Illustrated. 12mo. 156pp. Faint bookseller's stamp on front fly with light offsetting on endpapers, spine ends and corners lightly rubbed and bumped, very good in a very good modestly soiled dust jacket with light rubbing. "Dr. George Hay was a Scottish Catholic bishop and author of many books of piety, who, like many others of his faith, was violently persecuted before and during the Gordon riots towards the end of the eighteenth century." - dust jacket.
