PLEASE NOTE: whilst this is a scarce first edition of this novel and the book is in great all round condition, there is a personal inscription to the front. 'Silk' by Alessandro Baricco. A handsome little copy of this novel. Set in the 1860's, a young man travels from France to Japan as part of the silk trade. He gets involved with a young woman who is a 'concubine' to a local silk baron. Made into a movie with Keira Knightly. The dustjacket is bright and unclipped with very good edges and tips. There is an inscription to the front paper but otherwise clean and unmarked. Smart boards. Not exlib and packed and sent with care. Seller Inventory # 100003171
