First edition, approx. 8" x 6", pp. 22, [2]; text in cyrillic characters; contemporary red cloth; text a little toned, upper cover with some old paper residue, all else very good. From the library of Angus I. Ward (1893-1969), sinologist and diplomat who famously stood up to Mao Zedong in 1948 and was deported in 1949. His bookplate is on the front pastedown. Issued as volume 3 in the publisher's Structure of Languages series under the editorship of A. P. Riftin. Includes sections on phonetics, vocabulary, morphology, and syntax. According to Wikipedia the Khalkha are the largest subgroup of the Mongol peoples and the Khalkha or Halh dialect is the standard written language of Mongolia. This title shows up as a microform without locations in OCLC. Good and reliable NUC locates a copy at LC.
