With appendices on the dating of Japanese prints, a chronological table and list of Ukiyoye artists. Also with reproductions of artists' signatures, publisher's seals, and actors' crests. Tan cloth over blue paper boards, gilt black morocco spine label. Top corners bumped, front hinge starting to crack, but sound. A very good, clean copy. First edition of one of the first attempts to classify Japanese prints, based on schools and subject matter. This is a revision of an earlier work that the author published in 1920.
