Not dated circa 1830. 32mo. Bound in blue wrappers with the first and last being blanks pasted to the printed wrappers as issued. 32 pages including pastedown wrappers. Illustrated with ten wood cuts. One of Kendrew's penny chapbooks as listed on the lower wrapper. The odd fox mark inside, otherwise a fine unused copy. Size 100 x 65mm (4 x 2.5 inches) Provenance: From the collection of the remaining stock from the Kendrew business which was inherited by a distant family member and kept in the family through descent. James Kendrew (fl. 1803-1841) was a printer and publisher of Colliergate, York, who specialized in pamphlets and children's chapbooks. In 1841 he was succeeded by his son John Lofthouse Kendrew who sold the business in 1848.
