We are listing 30 issues from the early 1960s of the British ABOUT TOWN magazine (renamed just TOWN with the July, 1962, issue) today, and we are providing 5 digital photos of each issue. All issues are complete and in solid condition. However, given their age, in some issues there may be the occasional partly loose page, and there may be a little edgewear. ABOUT TOWN does, however, represent a wonderful chronicle of life in the early 60s, just before the emergence of the counter-culture big bang, when men wore hats, cigarette advertisements abounded and brand new cars cost in the region of £700. In terms of condition, copies range from very good to fine. It should be pointed out that co-publisher, Michael Heseltine, became one of the most powerful men in Margaret Thatcher's government, and now sits in the House of Lords, a proud pro-European. This issue's spine is very competently (and almost invisibly) reinforced with tape.
