First edition, 8vo, pp. xx, 315, [1]; color frontispiece, 6 illustrations on rectos and versos of 4 plates; original green cloth stamped in gilt on upper cover and spine; lower cover somewhat spotted, else a near fine copy, preserving the original price-clipped dust jacket which is soiled and a bit worn at the extremities, and with 2 tiny chips out at the top of the spine. Translation of Mi-la-ras-pa?i rnam thar made largely by Lama Kazi Dawa-Samdup. Walter Yeeling Evans-Wentz (1878-1965) "was an American anthropologist and writer who was a pioneer in the study of Tibetan Buddhism, and in transmission of Tibetan Buddhism to the Western world, most known for publishing an early English translation of The Tibetan Book of the Dead in 1927" (Wikipedia).
