"A brief description of Ireland ." also includes a type-facsimile of the title-page of the first edition of 1590. "Dublin: printed at the University Press by Graisberry and Gill." - verso of each title-leaf etc. in vol. 1, and some title-leaves in vol. 2. "Dublin: printed at the University Press, by M. H. Gill." - verso of some title-leaves in vol. 2. Pagination: Vol. 1: [4], 13, [3], 68, viii, 31, [1] p., [1] leaf of plates -- Vol. 2: [10], 90, viii, 26, xxxvi, 153, [1], 2 p. Volume 1 includes a report of the first AGM and a list of members of the Irish Archaeological Society, plus a list of "Works preparing for publication". The final leaf in volume 2 bears a list of proposed publications for (1841-1844). A separate "Advertisement" slip issued with vol. 1 explains that no. 3 in the Society's publications series has been postponed. A separate leaf bearing a list of the officers of the Society was issued with vol. 2. This leaf was intended to be used to cancel a similar leaf in copies of the Society's publication number 6 ("The banquet of Dun Na N-Gedh and the battle of Magh Rath .", 1842).
