About this Item

Stated First Unlimited Edition 1937 and reprinted 1941, 1947 and 1949. Hardcover. Emerald green cloth with boards with the image of a bow stamped in blind on the front board and gilt titles on the spine. Lightly faded head/foot of spine. Corners slightly worn and curving inward. A previous owner name dated 1951 on the fep. A few pages creased at the tips, otherwise a very nice clean copy with no markings. In the distinctive Bodley Head sugar paper Dust Jacket. The jacket is missing the spine and a large chunk is missing from the rear panel and rear flap (see photos). Now housed in a fresh brodart archival jacket protector. [PLEASE EXCUSE THE GLARE ON THE BRODART -- it looks worse than it is] The front flap has the price listed as the "Cheap Edition 18s. net" This is not a collector's dream book by any means, but a nice early copy for reading in a partial example of the very fragile jacket from post-World-War-II Britain. ROBUST SHIPPING.
