19x11 cm. 117 S., 3 S. Anzeigen. Halbpergamentband der Zeit R�ckenschild. (Einband mit Lichtrand. R�ckenschild teils abgesplittert. Name auf Vorsatz. Leicht fleckig. Letzte Bl. mit einem schmalen Wasserrand). Goedeke IV, 525 29. - Erstausgabe. - Joseph von Sonnenfels (1733-1817), Professor der politischen Wissenschaften an der Universit�t Wien, 1794 deren Rektor, setzte bei der Kaiserin Maria Theresia durch, dass am Neujahrstag 1776 die Folter abeschafft wurde. Die Schrift wurde angeblich ohne sein Wissen nach einer Abschrift ver�ffentlicht, was ein Disziplinarverfahren nach sich zog. Jahre sp�ter, erst 1782 in Wien und N�rnberg, wurde eine Ausgabe von ihm herausgegeben. Sprache: deutsch.
