Antique hardback binding of mottled boards detached and worn, lacks leather spine. Contents poor to good, some pages detached, inscriptions to title page, some tears & wear, half title page has carefully been glued to plain page as has edge tears/loss. Looks like contains all the main pages with exception of pages 67/68 that are missing. As usual with some old books, page numbers are a bit odd, i.e pages 25 to 28 are miss-bound between pages 58/59 & pages 67/ 68 are miss-bound between pages 104/5. Inside front looks like an owners coat of arms bookplate has been carefully removed, inside rear is the decorative bookplate of Wm. Gonville of Alford.1740 (looks like carefully removed from another book?). One anomaly is Title page is dated 1640, and half title is dated 1641, but from checking online, seems there was only one edition of 1640. This copy with hundreds of b/w coats-of-arms and a good number are hand coloured and so a good reading & reference copy only due to binding and some pages in a damaged state. Size: 18 x 28cm Approx.
