About this Item

Green cloth covers, good or better condition. Paper clip clipped to the top edge of the front end paper, left a stain. Signed in pencil on the blank front page by Eliza Orne White. Included is a letter from Eliza Orne White to Miss Florence Poor, included is the envelope, has a large tear on the front. The letter has writing that is initialed O. R. W. and most of the letter is typed with corrections , typed Cordially yours, Eliza Orne White. Nice to have the letter with the book. In text illustrations by Connie Moran and a full page color front piece of Esther with her dolls This is the story of Esther, a little girl who was the daughter of the Reverend Warren Whitmore. The story is of her childhood in New England around the time of the War between the States. She took trips to Boston and heard Dickens read from his books. Nice historical book.
