Blue linen cloth quarter-bound to spine with cream buckram cloth on boards. Blind-stamped box with gilt fasc. signature on front and bright gilt lettering to spine. Book is tight and square, despite size (6.5" x 9.5", 858 pp) with no markings or flaws inside or out, other than neatly written prior owners signature on inside front cover. Endpapers are beautifully illustrated - fox in snowy landscape. Unclipped Dust Jacket shows original price of $17.50 "to Dec. 31, 1971" - $22.50 after that. Painting by author on front. Very little shelfwear or scuffing but 3 repaired tears with archival quality tape. Minor sun-browning to spine. Nice FIrst Edition, First Printing copy, as stated on the copyright page.
