About this Item
Yohji Yamamoto Avant-Garde Japanese Fashion Archive: This unique archive on noted Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto comprises 46 scarce posters, runway cards, postcards, placards, and various other ephemeral items, from the noted avant-garde Japanese fashion designer's shows, runway events, and marketing, 1990-2007. Eminently suitable for display, this archive not only records the evolving nature of Yamamoto's fashion designs, his enduring fascination with the color black and use of fabrics often considered 'men's in his women's fashion, but it also demonstrates his focus on the graphic aspects of his branding, and the consistent use of unusual textures, materials, and presentations as he built and maintained his worldwide presence.
