Patterson - an eminent British soldier, hunter, author and Christian Zionist, best known for his book `The Man-Eaters of Tsavo` (1907), which has inspired three Hollywood films, and his two memoirs of the First World War, where was the commander of both the Zion Mule Corps and later the 38th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers (also known as the Jewish Legion). The Zion Mule Corps and Jewish Legion would eventually serve as the foundation of the Israeli Defence Force decades later. Contains a color map of the Gallipoli Peninsula. 195x130mm.
