"Narrative of the author's travels in the heart of Asia. The story begins his travel in Manchuria, then continued to the Gobi desert. From Yarkand he crossed the Mustagh Pass in the Karakoram, and descended the Baltoro glacier; then he reached Kashmir through Baltistan. In 1889 he achieved his 2nd mission to the Yarkand and Shaksgam rivers; Aghil Pass Shaksgam river discoveries of Gasherbrum and Urdok glaciers - Sarpo Laggo river - exploring of Pamma Mustagh then Ilisu Pass - Taghdumbash Pamir - Tashklugan Mintaka Pass Hunza Gilgit. Then he came to Kashgar with G. Macartney in 1890, and explored the Pamir plateau in the next year" (Yakushi, citing the London edition of the same year). This New York edition not noticed by Yakushi.
