First edition, 8vo, pp. xi, [1], 239, [1]; original drab paper-covered boards, rebacked with a blue paper shelfback matching the original; large printed lending library label on the upper cover for "William's Library/ Eastern Corner / of Assembly Rooms / Cheltenham" (bearing a bust of Shakespeare); boards worn and soiled with small cracks at the extremities; front free endpaper replaced, some foxing of the preliminaries, but the binding is sound and but for the little foxing the textblock is clean. University of Aberdeen bookplate marked withdrawn. William's Library (apparently founded by George Arthur Williams) was a circulating subscription library in Cheltenham.
