At times rivaling Buenos Aires for its importance in national politics, the city of Córdoba was the site of the initial mutiny leading to the Revolución Libertadora, a military and civilian uprising that ended the second presidential term of Juan Perón in Argentina, on September 16, 1955. The 64 striking photogravures featured in this work were taken by Jorge R. Schneider, and document the 6 days of a revolutionary action movement which overthrew the Peronist government, and placed Lieutenant General Eduardo Lonardi as the acting head of state.
