About Henry Pordes Books Ltd
One of the most famous and last surviving bookshops on Charing Cross Road, Henry Pordes Books has been a favourite among book lovers for over thirty years. The shop stocks a broad and eclectic range of books, from modern firsts, early classics - including Shakespeare, Dickens, Austen, Wilde, Carroll, the Brontë sisters, Barrie, George Eliot and more - early and fine editions of major twentieth-century publishing institutions such as Harry Potter, James Bond and the novels of Agatha Christie, P.G. Wodehouse, Graham Greene and Terry Pratchett, to rare antiquarian texts in the fields of medicine, science, sport, travel, history, religion, philosophy and Italian and French literature, as well as children's books, especially form the 1930's, natural history, archaeology, mythology, folklore, cooking, drinks, and a mostly online selection of publications on art, design, fashion, photography and architecture. Payment by credit cards; alternative arrangements can be made for institutions: please contact us for details. We accept all major credit cards except Diners. Please note that books can only be delivered to the address at which the card is registered. Cheques or Bank Drafts must be in Sterling and drawn on a UK bank account.
Prices quoted in our on-line catalogue are exclusive of postage and insurance. Title to any goods does not transfer from the seller until payment is received in full, and is made under British law.
Books will be held for a maximum of 48 hours. If payment is not received in that time, the transaction will be cancelled and the books returned to the shelf.
Our books are securely packed and shipped to all parts of the world. Customers should normally allow 3 days to 2 weeks for delivery within the UK and 10 days to 8 weeks for delivery to the rest of the world.
