First English Edition. Tall 8vo. 2 volumes. Volume I. pp. xxviii, [4], 324. Volume II. pp. [4], [325] 621, [1]. Text is printed in brown ink on cream colored paper and includes occasional occult diagrams. Bound in green cloth. No dust-jacket (as issued?). Top edge is gilt. Near fine condition. Originally published in French (Paris, 1870). An interesting study by a French student of the occult arts. Paul Christian did much research in old books of occult lore.
