Map of the Principal Countries of the Ancient World, Extending from the Alps to the Southern Frontier of Egypt, and From Carthage to Persepolis.(Old Maps, 19th Century Maps, Ancient World, Europe, Italy, Adriatic Sea, Greece, Anatolia, Middle East, Persia, Holy Land, Palestine, Israel, Egypt, North Africa, Armenia). Issued 1853, Edinburgh by A. & C. Black. Engraved by Hughes. Mid 19th century engraved map with original hand color. Well preserved, nice looking example with pleasing age patina, short minor split at centerfold base cleanly closed with archival tape. Original center fold as issued. Sheet Measures c. 17" H x 25" W.
