Add to basketThis is a highly important climate classification map for North America by C. C. Thornthwaite. It was first explained in October of 1931. In hiis obituary by John Leighly credits him with a plethora of published articles over his academic career. In 1931 he published "The Climates of Nort America According to a New Classification," Geographical Review, Vol 21, pp. 633-55. In that article he contributed to a refined theory and application of the Kopek System of climate classification as it relates to North America. This map was issued immediately thereafter. All the territory of North America was classified. Consequently, this map claims and important space in American academic geography. The map is on thin paper and most attractive.
