This map is a beautiful example of the mapmakers art. Printed by lithography and hand colored at the time of publication, it was produced for inclusion in the General Atlas. It is beautifully colored to designate the counties of each state. The Hannibal and St. Joseph cuts across the northern part of Missouri. It was the railroad that cut off the commerce of the Mississippi River from St. Louis and redirected it to Chicago via the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad. This map is in very good condition.
