Fine example of the Homann Heir map of Korea, Japan, Manchuria and easternmost Russia, published in Nuremberg. The map is the eastern sheet of a pair of maps published by the Homann Heirs showing China, Korea, Tartaria, Japan, etc. The Kingdom of Korea is treated in fine detail, among the best larger format treatments of the region in the first part of the 18th Century. The map was issued during the Joseon Dynasat, during the early years of the reign of King Yeongjo (1724-1776).
