Published, Amsterdam: Schenk & Valk, 1708. Engraving with original hand color (approx. 20 X 20 3/4 inches). A celestial diagram showing the visible paths of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, surrounded by cherubs and other allegorical figures. From "Atlas Coelestis seu Harmonia Macrocosmica" the first celestial atlas produced in the Netherlands. Cellarius combined the theories of Ptolemy, Copernicus, and Brahe to produce one of the most lauded and decorative celestial atlases ever created.
