First edition. The setting for the poem is the Neversink River in New York's Catskills. Stated in the preface: "Printed, not published." 8vo. [2 (blank)], iv, [2], (7)?95, [3 (blank)] pp. Publisher's brown cloth, spine with paper shelving label, front cover with gilt-stamped title and decorations, both covers pressure-stamped by a now-defunct library. Binding bowed, soiled, worn at corners. Spine cloth torn open with much cloth now missing, underlying binding matter exposed, rubbed over front joint, and chipped a bit at both the head and foot. Front cover loosening and first two leaves detached. Hinge cracked between pp. 80 and 81 resulting in rear cover and pp. 81 to end separating from text block. Bookplate, rubber stamps, and library charge pocket present. Bookseller Inventory # 7498
