Binding rubbed and abraded, back joint starting, small chip out of back cover, and small loss of leather at head and base of spine; boards exposed on corners. Ex-library with bookplate and charge slip. Ink signature of a contemporary owner on title-page. Toning, browning; some light foxing, soiling, and waterstaining. Chip out of fore-margin of pp. 7/8, just touching but not costing several letters. Outer edge of pp. 41/42 ragged, not affecting text. Tear and/or chip at bottom margins of pp. [53]?84 and pp. 135/136, and tear at top and bottom margins of pp. 95?110, with tears extending into text only on a few pages and costing a total of one letter on p. 72.
