12 3/4" x 10 1/4" album of 40 leaves/ 84 pages. Over 100 pages of a few different fire equipment catalogs glued to the page with pricing provided in typeset on translucent onion paper between pages in the beginning, or sometimes found written in pencil on the pages itself. There are also two original photographs attached. The last few pages of the album are blank. One page is loose. Otherwise, it is in overall good condition. Two newspaper clippings from the Chicago, Ill. (Dec. 31, 1907 and Jan. 4, 1908) act as the frontispiece. Both articles are about the newest automobile combination hose wagon and chemical engine acquired purchased by the Chicago fire department. Each serves as a bragging rite of the engine house as they move beyond the horse drawn vehicle. The automobile from the Seagrave Company of Columbus, Ohio is featured on the following page. Thirty two pages feature a variety of Seagrave Company's cylinder-powered fire engines, lanterns, and ladders. Other companies featured, include: the Gorham Rubber Co. of Seattle, Washington; the Nott Fire Engine Co. of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Barton of San Francisco, CA specializing in quick hitch snap carabiners. A statement from The Sieben Chemical Nozzle Cop. of Kansas City, MO. is pasted on the inside of the back cover, which starts by saying, "In presenting our catalogue showing the fire fighting apparatus we manufacture, we feel that anything we could say would be superfluous.".
