About the Author:

Peggy Fleming has lived in Washington, DC since 1959. Her careers included working on Capitol Hill and in The White House. Then she taught 6th grade. Next she worked as a cultural anthropologist on a project concerning the drought in the Sahel in the 1970s. For 17 years she was a Park Ranger in Resources Management for the National Park Service. Since 1990 she has been a photographer. She has a BA from Dominican College, San Raphael, California; MA from George Washington University in Washington DC, in Cultural Anthropology and a Certificate of Accomplishment in Natural History Field Studies of the Mid-Atlantic Region, from the Graduate School of USDA.
