Collation: vi, viii, [9]-170 (viii), [2-Ads]pp. Text with usual age browning, some spotting and foxing. Gnawing at tail near gutter pp. v-xiii. There is some misplacement of several leaves but the book is complete. This is the first translation of Orfila's "Traite des Poisons" (1814-1815) into English, making it readily available to an American audience. Orfila's treatise on poisons is an extensive treatment of toxicologic forensics that deals with medical practices to be employed following poisoning, especially from wines.
