The book concludes with the reproduction of a letter by the Rev. James Bradley on the motion of the fixed stars, which originally appeared in the Philosophical Transactions in 1727.Carus (1852-1919) was a German philosopher interested in the intersection of science in religion. He was a prolific author, penning more than 70 books and hundreds of articles during his career.
