The author here seeks to construct a philosophy of science within the scope of Einstein and Lorentz's groundbreaking theory of relativity. Of particular interest is his discussions on the distinction of the intent of the physicist (experimental scientist) and philsopher-scientist. The book concludes with the reproduction of a letter by the Rev. James Bradley on the motion of the fixed stars, which originally appeared in the Philosophical Transactions in 1727.Carus (1852-1919) was a German philosopher interested in the intersection of science in religion. He was a prolific author, penning more than 70 books and hundreds of articles during his career.
