About this title

The Battle of Germany as seen through the eyes of an 18 year old infantry rifleman. This description of the war was written before other accounts were published and without the benefit of history books or other literature of the war. It is a simple story of the daily life and thoughts of a front-line infantry rifleman facing death at every turn of the road and from behind every bush. It follows the author from the Belgian border to the meeting of the Russians at the Elbe/Mulde River. The book is very fast paced and has been praised by many as the most realistic recording of battle that they have read. Fifty years later, the author has edited and annotated the original manuscript and provided original maps and photograph's to make the action easier to follow. A Private's Diary should be on the reading list of anyone interested in a true, unvarnished account of World War II.
