The Dark Forest is a world. Cities, towns and villages exist like islands in a green sea, while in the Forest itself live hermits, wizards and all manner of weird and wonderful creatures - some invented, some strangely familiar. The story of Will, swineherd and whipping boy to the ghastly Symon, who constantly reminds him of the awful time he's going to have when he accompanies Symon to Knyghtschool. Fate lends a hand, when Will instead finds himself on a quest with the mysterious Rune-master, to recover the lost treasure of the Dark Forest - a quest which is far more dangerous!  Comedy fantasy series written for children, with a bit of an edge.

From AudioFile:
The son of a swineherd has his heart set on being a knight--despite what fate has in store for him. Here you have all the elements of a fantasy story to be enjoyed by adults as well as children. Graham Seed makes the most of it all--the dry humor, innuendo, and snide characters who comment on whatever is at hand. This is a story that might seem to want to tell itself, but in the hands of Seed, it is much more. He has fun playfully creating the characters, each of whom has elements of some familiar fairy tale character--with a slight twist, of course. His fun is contagious as he imparts this lighthearted fantasy. J.E.M. © AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
