This text uses the theory of the firm to integrate and link economic theory (microeconomics and macroeconomics), decision sciences (mathematical economics and econometrics), and the functional areas of business (accounting, finance, marketing, personnel or human resource management, and production) and shows how all of these topics are crucial components of managerial decision making.

It covers the full range of optimization techniques used in managerial decision making. This seventh edition includes new sections, new case studies, some of which are India based, and five new longer Indian integrated case studies. In addition, the existing case studies, supplementary readings, and Internet site addresses have been revised.

About the Author:
Dominick Salvatore is Professor of Economics and Business at Fordham University. He was chairman of the New York Academy of Sciences and is consultant to the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, the United Nations, and various multinational banks and corporations. His research has been published in more than 100 journal articles in leading business and economics journals and presented at numerous national and international conferences.
Ravikesh Srivastava is presently Director of AKG Institute of Management, Ghaziabad. He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, research, consultancy, and training (MDP), including 5 years at IIM Lucknow. He has worked as a consultant for leading companies such as HPCL, GHCL, HSIL and Maruti Suzuki and has published 20 research papers in leading journals.
