Ayn Seddon received her doctorate in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has been an educator for over fifteen years, teaching in criminal justice, criminology, human services, and psychology. She teaches wholly online for Capella University and Corinthian Colleges. Her research interests include violent sexual offenders, minorities and crime, international criminology, and identity development. She has published extensively in journals, authored a chapter in a criminological theory text, and has served as editor for a forensics encyclopedia. She currently resides in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, with her husband, Dan O’Reilly, a professor of philosophy, and three children: Emma, Tarika, and Ravi.
Allan Pass is a licensed and board certified mental health practitioner with a specialty in forensic mental health. He received his doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh and has been in practice for over 35 years. In 1986, he founded National Behavioral Science Consultants, a behavioral sciences consulting firm. He is a recognized expert in forensic mental health related matters and testifies for criminal defense attorneys, the prosecution and under direct court order. Pass has served as a hostage negotiator and criminal personality profiler in murder and sexual crime investigations for various state and local law enforcement agencies, provided extensive training services in crisis management/intervention and hostage negotiations to mental health agencies, correctional facilities and hospitals, guest lectured at a variety of health industry agencies and colleges and universities. He has published numerous professional articles in various journals.
