About the authors



Christopher J. Bowen is a freelance film and video professional who has spent ten years teaching cinematography, film production, and video editing both at Boston University and for corporate clients. He holds certification as an Avid Certified Instructor and as an Avid Certified User. Mr. Bowen's latest role as Creative Director of Fellsway Creatives, his own production company, is taking him beyond shooting and editing and into the world of motion graphics and video for the web. Mr. Bowen is author of Grammar of the Edit, also published by Focal Press.



Roy Thompson (deceased) was a freelance director and frequently worked as a trainer for the Television Training Centre of Deutsche Welle, Berlin. He worked extensively in Europe, Africa, and Middle and Far Eastern countries. He was author of Grammar of the Edit, also published by Focal Press.
