Flader is professor at the University of Missouri at Columbia, where she teaches environmental history and policy and the history of the Western United States.  She is the coeditor with Baird Callicott of The River of the Mother of God and Other Essays by Aldo Leopold, also published by the University of Wisconsin Press.
