Well researched and presented, very easy to get into. A good introduction to just how 'bonkers' (the sheer money and effort spent on these things defies belief) Europe had become in the first half of the last century. I used the book as one of my resources when visiting many of the continental fortifications , a couple of years back during a long trip, many of which are still intact, and not much consensus about what to do with much of it still prevails - 'Educational Monument'? Tourist Atrraction? Knock down and build a Mall? If your interested in Miltary History this book is a fine resource. --By Barry Wom
