When God really wants to get your attention, he doesn't just say something once. He echoes. He speaks through a Sunday sermon, a chance conversation with a friend the next day, even a random email. The same theme, idea, impression, or lesson will repeat itself in surprising and unexpected ways until you realize that maybe, just maybe, God is at work. According to author Margaret Feinberg, the repetitive nature of a sacred echo gives us confidence that God really is prompting, guiding, or leading. The sacred echo reminds us to pay close attention -- something important may be going on here. The sacred echo challenges us to prayerfully consider how God is at work in our life as well as in the lives of those around us. The sacred echo is an invitation to spiritual awakening. Margaret writes, 'I want a relationship with God where prayer is as natural as breathing. If God is the one in whom we are to live and move and have our being, then I want my every inhale infused with his presence, my every exhale an extension of his love.' If that's your desire too, let Sacred Echo be your guide to a deeper, more rewarding relationship with the God of the universe.

Review:
This book should become a classic---but I hope not a classic more revered than enjoyed. -- Leonard Sweet

In these gentle reflections, popular Christian speaker and writer Feinberg (The Organic God) urges readers to listen carefully for the sacred echoes of God's voice amid their daily lives as an “invitation to spiritual awakening.” Not one to shy away from the hard questions, Feinberg keeps asking “why?” as she sees others suffer, acknowledging that “prayers of petition force one to live [with] eyes wide open to see what God may do or leave undone.” Guided by stories in the Bible such as that of Elijah, she draws from her own life and those of the people around her to illustrate the ways that God speaks and the ways that we must pay attention to hear; topics include reminders to follow God's call, help others, build relationships and be patient through times of waiting. While some readers may want a more in-depth approach to the complexities of petitionary prayer in a world where many prayers don't seem to be answered, Feinberg brings an authentic voiceto a perennially difficult subject, and her book serves as a devotional reminder to look for the signs of God's presence everywhere. (Aug.) -- Publisher’s Weekly

Margaret Feinberg’s The Sacred Echo gave me a new perspective on prayer. Very well written and thought-provoking, it helped me see prayer in a fresh light. Simply a must-read if your prayer life is stuck or in a rut. -- Dr. Gary Smalley

Once again Margaret inspires her readers that the God of the universe wants to be “up close and personal” with his children, and his Sacred Echo is his relentless loving whisper to capture our hearts. -- Tammy Dunahoo

Margaret is the real thing! Instead of writing on prayer with platitudes that reek of unrealistic piety and leave you feeling spiritually inept, Margaret’s stories and winsome, yet familiar-feeling, encounters with God actually help you hear God’s voice echo in your own soul. -- Dave Terpstra

This really isn’t a book just about prayer, but a book about a journey that leads to a deeper understanding of ourselves and a more surrendered life to the Echo of a God that is crazy in love with us. A must-read for anyone who is serious about their journey of faith and God’s dream for their life. -- John Bishop

I really like the way Margaret tells stories about God. She makes them come to life! -- Josie Kirk

With deep insight into the narrative of prayer in Scripture, Margaret opens her life and invites us to follow her journey of holy conversations with God. Her authentic vulnerability has opened my eyes to new islands I want to explore to expand my relationship to the Trinity. This will be a book you won’t be able to keep to yourself. -- Josh Loveless

Margaret Feinberg has done it again! Taking a well-versed subject, she has given it freshness and created a book that is personal, practical, and full of life. -- Aaron Stern

In The Sacred Echo, Margaret gets real, and her stories, metaphors, and honesty encourage the reader to listen more closely to God as his voice reverberates through our life experiences like the beat of a familiar song. -- Amena Brown

Pay very close attention to words of my friend Margaret. Her wisdom and unique insight on connecting with our Maker is truly remarkable. Her words are prophetic. The Sacred Echo opened a new path for me to connect deeply with God in prayer. -- Mike Foster

An exuberant introduction to the quiet but profound ways God speaks most of the time to most people, laced with delightful personal illustrations, yet solidly and biblically grounded. -- Craig L. Blomberg, PhD

Margaret Feinberg’s words are a balm. As you read, you cannot help but sense that you are desperately loved. When we finally understand that, everything else gets a little easier. The burdens get a little lighter. And the world seems to get a little nicer. -- Shane Claiborne, Author

There is no mystery like prayer. Sacred Echo honors the mystery, and offers wise council on the way. -- John Ortberg, Pastor and Author
