From Library Journal:
Grade 7 Up-A handy book of inspiring quotations. Chapters highlight areas that touch young lives, e.g., "Family: Joy or Nightmare?," "Knowing Who I Am," "Staying Safe," "Money, Money, Money," "Hold Fast to Dreams," "Am I Looking Good?" Each section is introduced by a single quote and a black-and-white photo of a well-known individual such as Lauryn Hill, Danny Glover, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Malcolm X, or Oprah Winfrey. The more than 400 quotes have been garnered from successful athletes, writers, entrepreneurs, musicians, models, comics, civil rights activists, politicians, and educators. While citations for the quotes are not included, each contributor is briefly profiled in a biographical index. This compilation invites browsing and reflection.

Review:
"The choice of selections is excellent, and it is obvious that careful and thorough research was done with teens in mind - though adults will also benefit from these words." -- VOYA, 2/00
