Un arrêt du conseil, du 30 août 1785, ayant reconnu ses droits, il voulut d'abord traduire Lange et Quinquet en justice {mais il les trouva si bien appuyés, qu'après des discussions qui se pro longèrent pendant plusieurs années, il se résigna à transiger, et à partager le profit de l'invention avec les spoliateurs.
