About the Author:

Weegee (1899-1968) was born Arthur Fellig in Poland and arrived in New York at the age of 10. During his ten years at Manhattan’s police headquarters, he published nearly 5,000 photos, making him the most famous of a new breed of hardboiled news photographers. His books include Naked Hollywood and Naked City, which was later made into a film.
