Review:
"Greenwood and Co seem to have included all information relevant to medical and other health care students which is readable, to the point and interesting. The text is also interspersed by numerous pictures, some of clinical examples other of bacterial micrographs...one other bonus of this book is that it doesn’t look as big as some of the other microbiology books so it’s a less daunting task to pick it up."

"A vibrant, digestible & fully comprehensive text! Medical Microbiology by Greenwood et al contains everything a medical student or microbiologist could desire; the chapters are arranged logically, the quantity of information is ample and is matched only by the quality. The book opens with an introduction suited to both the under & postgraduate. Chapters are arranged by kingdom, allowing any one pathogen to be located effortlessly, with its; morphology, clinical course, investigations, diagnosis, treatment, and much more laid out in conjunction. Online supplementation includes an extensive image & pharmaceutical library which is indispensable in modern study. There is more than enough information to satisfy any rhapsodic student! Although it should be devoured in separate sittings and the methods may differ slightly from current/future medical protocol, it is my first point of reference for any microbiological question. Having searched for the perfect microbiology text for some time, I have finally succeeded."

"This outstanding resource for medical students and residents training in the fields of pathology and infectious disease successfully brings together the main branches of microbiology -- bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology...The book is straightforward, logically organized, and well referenced. Addition of web sites as sources in recommended reading shows the realization of the role of the Internet in the acquisition of knowledge by today's medical students and residents. The "key point" boxes highlight and summarize the chapters, impressing on readers the significant points without being lengthy and wordy. Ample photographs, diagrams, tables, and charts supplement the text....This book, with its easy to read format, abundant visuals, and modest price, will be a favorite among medical students and residents."
