About the Author:
Marvin Sparks

Marvin Sparks is father to five children, step father to two children, and grandfather to one. At age 19, Marvin became a flight instructor to support his young family and to pay his way through college. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Marvin went to work full time as a pilot. When Marvin was 28, he went to work as an airline pilot for a major US airline. During this time, Marvin's family continued to grow. During the process of modifying his retirement and investment strategies, Marvin met Bruce Palaniuk. Together they succeeded in starting Marvin's children up the path to financial freedom. Their experience with these and other children is what inspired this book.

Marvin believes that empowering young people to become financially independent from their own efforts is a very worthwhile goal. Worthwhile for the individual and all of society.

Bruce Palaniuk

Husband and father of two daughters, Bruce Palaniuk is a fifth generation Oregonian. After graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, Bruce worked as a Civil Engineer for 13 years.

He later managed a credit union service organization that provided insurance and financial services to their members. Bruce left the credit union to work with individual clients and currently works for Pacific Benefits Consultants as a Financial Consultant.

As a boy Bruce would visualize how he could achieve financial independence for himself and his future family. He began picking beans at age 9 and saved his money to invest. Self-taught at age 15, Bruce set out on his path to financial freedom by investing in mutual funds and individual stocks.

Bruce has a passion for helping people build generational wealth. Bruce’s ideas and concepts were developed with his own children and children of his clients. Bruce is often heard saying, "There is a path to financial freedom available to everyone."
