About the Author:

Jeanne Ballantine received her PhD from Indiana University in 1971. She is co-author of SCHOOLS AND SOCIETY (Thomson Wadsworth, �2001) and many other books, articles, and papers. She is currently in the Sociology Department at Wright State University in Ohio.
