That includes how to reduce fat, plan a week's worth of cooking for a family, find ways to speed the process, and stock your pantry so you have on hand what you need to get that Southwestern flavor you are looking for.

Among the 14 chapters, you will find recipes for main dish salads, wraps, Southwest seafood, sauces and salsas, desserts, fast-cooking meat dishes, quick-action poultry, and vegetarian dishes. About the Author:

Jane Butel, whose first books on New Mexican and American Mexican food were published in the 1960s, is often credited with starting the Tex-Mex mania. She is the author of more than fifteen cookbooks and is a contributor to the Los Angeles Times, Redbook, and National Geographic Traveler, among others. In addition to managing the Jane Butel Southwestern Cooking School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which Bon App�tit has called among "the best in the U.S.," she continually lectures and conducts cooking classes across the country.
