Have you ever had that feeling, the tingle in your body and mind when everything is going your way? Is it the zone? Is it flow? Maybe, but whenever you watch a sporting event, listen to an actor talk about their performance or read comments from an executive on a roll, they always seem to bring up Big Mo. Momentum is often talked about, coveted and courted, but appears difficult to retain. In “Finding Big Mo” we invite you to jump into the character of Thomas Barr as he tees off at Pebble Beach in the round of his life. Set in Pebble Beach and in the last round of the National Open, Tom has the misfortune of losing his regular caddy. Forced to find a replacement in the local caddy yard when all loops have been long established, he meets an aging legend nicknamed “Foot”. The two pair up to face multi-time champion, Cyrus Steele in the final group and Foot leads Tom on a journey of self-discovery and creating a personal recipe for courting Momentum. Lovers of golf, Pebble Beach, and underdog stories will enjoy this fictional walk through the twists and turns of tournament golf. So join Tom and Foot as they do their best to Find Big Mo.

About the Author:
Drew played Pebble Beach for the first time in 1991 in the California State Amateur Championship where he ended up having Ray Mednis (Foot) as his caddy for the match play portion of the tournament. With Ray on his bag Drew upset several higher seeds to make it to the Quarterfinals where he lost to the medalist and eventual finalist Sandy Galbraith. Foot’s easy going manner and comprehensive knowledge of Pebble Beach were major factors in Drew’s success in the event and over the years he has looked back at that week as one of the most interesting of his entire life. After writing a book about adapting to change Change Doesn’t Bite in 2012, Drew knew his next story would have to involve golf and “Finding Big Mo” was born after years of living in Drew’s thoughts. Drew is a husband and father of two children. He runs Banyan Tree Strategies, a Management Consulting firm, and is an avid amateur golfer and masters swimmer. Drew is the founder of the California Season of Life Foundation, a senior member of The Guardsmen of San Francisco, and a board member for his local First Tee chapter. All of these efforts focus on helping disadvantaged youth redirect their futures through positive role models and values based curriculum. Drew was the Captain of the Cal Men’s golf team in 1993 and was an All-Pac 10 Selection. Drew’s wife Sara Sanders played on the LPGA Tour from 1998-2002.
